■ Jinsuk & Me (깔깔깔 희망버스)

We must meet one another...

In June 2011, when I got on the Hope Bus, my everyday life began to change. I was just a passing passenger at fist. I felt sorry about what had happened like the others and I just merely tried to be helpful. I began photographing the main people affected by these surprising moments. I helped those who created hope, those who made it and get on the Hope Bus: Kim Jin-suk in the crane and the other workers who sat-in during the protest demonstrations and protected the crane. Kim Jin-suk became friends with people around the world by Twitter. Without even realizing, I came to love her as a human being. Could we see her safely at last?

■ RAZ on Air (라즈온에어)

Showing the other side of transgender individuals that we normally do not see before, RAZ shows that she is not pretty so she doesn’t work in performance entertainment. Now she is a Broadcasting Jacky (BJ) on the Africa TV, internet real time personal broadcasting, on the Internet. In broadcasting she talks counsels, jokes, and facilitates the discussions on her shows. Through broadcasting, she has met and communicated with a variety of people.

■ The Big Picture (그리고 싶은 것)

Gwon Yoon-deok, picture book writer, has begun the project entitled: “Peace Picture Book” with other authors from Korea, China, and Japan regarding Asian women who were forced to provide sexual services to Japanese soldiers. Many people around him supported and cheered him up but as time went by, old wounds from the past were not forgotten and remembered, and revealed. The old wounds inflicted pain upon him and between Japanese and Korean authors, thy show different opinions about Gwon’s art work about the Japanese army’s comfort women. Therefore, Gwon’s picture book took longer to be published because of the authors’ arguments against it. 

■ Girl Prince (왕자가 된 소녀들)

In the 1950’s, there was a Korean traditional opera, Changgeuk, which consisted of only women. It gained sensational popularity at that time and it is a romantic story about female transvestites. At the time, there were a lot of fans. Some of them stole the parents’ jewelry and lied to them in order to see ‘Changgeuk’. The female actresses went all over the country, neglected their studies, and did not marry. The actresses were on their own way to become princes rather than ’waiting for their princes.’ So, what became of the girls who wanted to be princes?

■ Anywhere in Seoul, 2010 (2010년 서울)

Kim Choon-bae is in his 50’s and he hasn’t learned anything and doesn’t have anything. He struggled to get and keep a job but it was noteasy for him. He has a disabled son. He wants to do everything for his son, but the society doesn’t’ give him a chance because he is an ex-convict.

■ The Way to School (학교 가는 길)

Maksal is a 13-year-old boy from Mongolia. He moved to Korea with his parents four years ago. He is poor at speaking Korean, but he really loves Taegwondo. Maksal and his parents are illegal aliens, so they always feel nervous and unstable, but they do their best each day to stay. One day Maksal entered a Martial Arts Championship and he won the gold medal. Then, the peaceful days disappeared. Suddenly, the Seoul government cracked down on illegal aliens, and his mother was caught by a squad and sent back to Mongolia.

■ Wandering Stars (간지들의 하루)

A 19-year-old Eun-jeong is really afraid to become an adult. Seung-hee wants to be an adult, so she wants to choose to pay monthly rent or ride a motor bike or drive a car. When Song-ha earns money, she uses all her money to buy new clothes, cosmetics, and modifies her hair style. The time passes by, Eun-jeong’s film, a hobby of hers, is played at the small film festival. Song-ha goes to her father’s village to get to meet ther younger sister. In the past, Song-ha had sued her father. Seung-hee travels with ther sick father and goes back to her work. The three girls get older as they go on different paths as adults.

■ Summer Days in Bloom (옥탑방 열기)

Ten years ago, Gabriel and Du-yeol were infected with HIV/AIDS around the same time. From then on, Du-yeol thought his life was over, while Gabriel didn’t and he found someone to love despite being infected. The two men meet, fall in love and live together on a roof-top house. Later, they have and argument and Du-yeol leaves the house.
