▮Preliminary education

Date: Sun. April. 21st, 2p.m.

Venue: Global Lounge, Gwangju International Center 1F
Brief one-hour introductory education about the program and how to complete the application and final report. Details and tips about how to prepare materials for the final report will be covered in this session.

▮Notice of finalist / education

》 The finalist will receive the confirmation email on May. 1st afternoon 

》 Compulsory education for the finalist: Sun. May. 5th 2 p.m. 

※Failure to participate this education would cause losing the subsidy. 



Eligibility

- Non-profit communities in Gwangju creating activities and events for cultural exchange among both local Koreans and expats.

- The representative of the community should have at least one-year residence in Gwangju.

- Members of the community must be both Koreans and expats in Gwangju.

 

Criteria

- Events or activities related to culture, art, sports, festivals, workshops, and seminars.

- Any activities aiming for the expansion of the local community for both Koreans and international residents.

- The group should be comprised of both Korean and foreign members.

*Any project related to language classes or any specific religion or politics would not be qualified for this program.

Space

Available for non-profit community projects using part of GIC as a venue.

Subsidy

- The final recipient is to be determined after thorough evaluation

- Subsidy amount varies depending on the scope of the project ranging from 100,000 won ~ 500,000 won)

- Available for the same community, up to 2 times per year but would not exceed total 1,000,000 won.

- The subsidy cannot be used for wages, prizes, gifts or any personal expense.

- In principle, subsidy will be transferred as the partial advance subsidy and final reimbursement after the assessment of the final report. However, depending on the project proposal and community, the total subsidy can be distributed after the final report assessment.

- Available through gic.or.kr (Community Story / Gwangju International Center)

- Event page or public notice can be shared on the GIC Facebook page.

- Upon advance request, Gwangju News, the monthly English magazine.

 

Application Procedure

  Application submission period (2 weeks)  Proposal assessment (2~3 days)  Individual email notice to all finalist. Partial advance subsidy transfer (Maximum 2 weeks in advance)  Execution of the project by each chosen community Final report submission (within two weeks once the last schedule of the project is done)   Final reimbursement

 

Assessment criteria

Preparation of document / validity of the proposal / capability of execution / cultural exchange among civilians / contribution to the local community / reasonable budget plan (each 10 points, grand total 60 points)
